Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Settli mobile app and website at settli.com (together, the "Service"), operated by Settli ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

What Settli is

Settli provides city guides, checklists, how-tos, provider comparisons, and a curated business directory for expats and digital nomads. The Service is informational only. It is not legal, tax, immigration, financial, medical, or professional advice. Rules change, offices interpret them differently, and your situation is unique. Verify anything important with official sources or a qualified professional before you rely on it.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By using Settli, you confirm that you meet this requirement and that you will comply with applicable laws.

Your use of the Service

You may use Settli for personal, non-commercial purposes unless we agree otherwise in writing (for example, a business listing arrangement).

You agree not to:

• Copy, scrape, or redistribute our content at scale without permission
• Reverse engineer, interfere with, or disrupt the Service
• Use the Service to spam, harass, or mislead others
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation when contacting us or submitting a business listing
• Use the Service in any way that violates law or these Terms

Accounts and data on your device

The current version of Settli does not require a consumer login. Preferences, saved items, and checklist progress are stored on your device. You are responsible for your device and any information you choose to store locally. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle personal information.

Content and accuracy

We work to keep guides, prices, and listings accurate and dated, but cities, providers, and regulations move fast. Content may be incomplete, outdated, or wrong. We update editorial material on a best-efforts basis and rely on users to report problems.

Partner and featured listings. Some businesses pay for or are selected for featured placement. We label partner listings clearly. A featured listing is an editorial or commercial arrangement, not a guarantee of quality, availability, or suitability for you. We always aim to show alternatives alongside recommendations.

Intellectual property

The Service, including text, design, logos, and software, is owned by us or our licensors and protected by copyright and other laws. You may not use our branding or content in a way that suggests endorsement without our written consent.

You retain ownership of content you send us (for example, a business-listing enquiry). You grant us a licence to use that content to operate and improve the Service, including publishing an approved business listing.

Third-party links and services

The Service links to external websites, apps, government portals, and businesses we do not control. We are not responsible for their content, policies, or practices. Your dealings with third parties are between you and them.

Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR THAT CONTENT WILL BE ACCURATE OR COMPLETE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE AND OUR DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE OR RELIANCE ON ITS CONTENT.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM THESE TERMS OR THE SERVICE IS LIMITED TO THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM (TYPICALLY ZERO, AS THE APP IS FREE) OR (B) EUR 100.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including fraud or death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable).

Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your misuse of the Service or breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by our own negligence or wilful misconduct.

Changes and termination

We may change the Service or these Terms at any time. We will post updated Terms on this page and update the date below. Material changes take effect when posted unless stated otherwise. Continued use after changes means you accept the new Terms.

We may suspend or stop providing the Service, or restrict access, at any time. You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Portugal, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts in Lisbon, Portugal have exclusive jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country give you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.

General

If any part of these Terms is unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
